Her friends at the funeral said she was sweet, which is interesting.

A great-aunt, 42 years ahead of me, finished her life last week. At 82, She was a firecracker and seemingly more lucid than just about anyone, including me. But, now she is as dead as a door knob. Not much crying at the funeral though.

It was a celebration of life, they called it. She seemed to have left this world at peace and the world was at peace with her leaving, completely. I wonder if she cared about having done more things here. Before she left she seemed content going to worship, spending time with her pretty dog – blessing, and sharing life with her prayer buddies, younger sister and selective family members. Plus, the occasional telling somebody off, and making ’em feel bad with her Christian type judgment/self-righteousness and dissing of the “black sheep”, non conformist and such. (Merely, my perspective.) Her friends at the funeral said she was sweet … which is interesting.)

Or, perhaps she left here okay with things. Her dead body seemed resolved; as if to say that’s it, that’s all. Laying dead in that casket she could’ve been a piece of shiny old wood – people spoke of fondly, maybe even enjoyed having around, but were nonchalant about letting go.

Hm, I wonder what will happen with that feisty spirit next. Maybe, her spirit’ll be recycled and pick up where the aunt left off spiritually. Some folks think we’re evolving the universe no matter what we do. I too wonder if the work is three dimensional and more than mere worldly accomplishments. Although some say, anything we do is apart of it – evolution. Even accomplishments or lack there of are tied up in evolution. Life is interesting.
